Brief: Flames to be showcased on ESPN 3 tonight
Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams will face off against Union University tonight in Jackson, Tennessee. The games will be a part of the NCAA D2 Showcase and can be viewed on ESPN 3, ESPN.com and the ESPN App.
The Lady Flames will tip off their game at 6:30 p.m. They aim to extend their current winning streak to 14 games. The Lady Flames defeated Union 71-67 earlier this season.
The men’s game will tip off at 8:30 p.m. The Flames will be looking to bounce back after a tough loss to Auburn Montgomery this past Saturday. The loss dropped the Flames to No. 2 overall in the GSC, which makes every game important as the Flames finish their season.
"This is a big game for us, especially wanting to bounce back after a performance that wasn't our best against AUM,” said Bubba Smith, head coach of the Flames. “Sometimes getting on the road is a good thing, and I think this road game comes at a good time for our team. There's a lot at stake this time of year, but more importantly we want to compete on the defensive end and play with a sense of urgency. If we do that and continue to play unselfishly on the offensive end, we will live with the result.”
The games will also be aired on Mix 104.1, and live streamed at leeuflames.com.
