Three things for October 7
1. Witness in Amber Guyger trial shot
Joshua Brown, a neighbor of Botham Jean and a witness for the prosecution against @DallasPD officer Amber Guyger, was gunned down at his apartment complex. His family deserves an independent investigation. #Justice4JoshuaBrown pic.twitter.com/CilHmG6qhE

A witness from the Amber Guyger trial, in which Guyger was convicted of shooting and killing their mutual neighbor, was found dead on Friday evening.
Joshua Brown, who testified last month, was found “shot … lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds,” according to the Associated Press. Brown was a key witness in the trial, helping to convict Guyger of the murder.
2. Bernie Sanders recovering from a heart attack
Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders is currently recovering in Vermont after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday.
Sanders was at a campaign event when he began experiencing chest pains. Upon arriving home on Saturday, he told the Associated Press that he is “feeling great.”
3. Spring and summer class scheduling open on Portico
Classes for the 2020 spring and summer semesters open today for students interested in planning their schedule. Advanced Class Selection will officially open the second week of November, but students can get ahead by planning classes prior to meeting with an advisor.
