Three things for November 22
1. Trump administration discusses strategy after five days of public testimony
Republican senators and White House officials met privately on Thursday, Nov. 21 to discuss a strategy for President Trump’s impeachment trial after the fifth full day of public testimonies. The prospect of an abbreviated two week trial is currently being considered.
These preparations come after a week of hard hitting testimonies in the House involving Ukraine and Joe Biden in the upcoming 2020 election. There is a possibility of a longer trial, but President Trump will make the final call on how it will proceed.
2. Tickets for Lee’s “A Classic Christmas” available now
The School of Music is presenting the 30th annual “A Classic Christmas” on Sunday, December 8th at 3 p.m. in the Conn Center. There will be a variety of performances from the Choral Union, Chorale, the Handbell Choir and the Symphony Orchestra.
Tickets are free to everyone but required to get in the event as the seats fill up quickly.
Tickets are available from the box office in the Dixon Center and can be reserved on Monday-Friday from 3-6 p.m., or by calling (423) 614-8343.
3. Directing class presenting 10 plays
Several Lee Theatre majors are presenting a series of scenes they have spent the last month and a half casting and directing as part of a directing class.
The Intro to Theatre class performed monologues that were then recorded for the directing class to review. The new directors also held auditions that were open to all students. After choosing a cast of two to three people, the directors put together a scene from a play written within their lifetime.
This is a free event that will begin at 7 p.m. in the Buzz Oates Theatre in the Communication Arts Building.
