1. Hotel collapse in New Orleans
On Saturday, a hotel in New Orleans collapsed, leaving rescue teams to search for a missing worker. While the hotel was under construction, multiple floors of the hotel fell, causing thirty injuries, with “one still left in the hospital,” according to AP News.
Construction on the new Hard Rock Hotel has come to a standstill, and roads remained closed within several blocks. Rescue teams are currently working on the site to determine the final outcome.
2. Dorm Wars commences on Monday Night
Dorm Wars will take place today at 8 p.m. in Walker Arena. The iconic event has dorms compete against one another to raise money for various charities, ultimately declaring a Dorm Wars champion.
Dorm Wars will also feature a pre-game show and a play-by-play show, hosted by Jake Rice and Bryce Castille.
3. Simone Biles earns new “all time medal record”

Simone Biles, competed this week at gymnastics worlds and won five gold medals. The gymnast has a track record of winning numerous medals and left this week by winning her “24th and 25th world championship medals in beam and floor,” according to AP News.
Biles will compete next year in the 2020 Olympics, representing the United States.
