Cleveland serves as Southeast Tennessee headquarters for Trump campaign
On Feb. 10, the Donald Trump campaign set up its headquarters for the Southeast Tennessee area in the Village Green on Keith Street.
The satellite office, an extension of the primary Tennessee headquarters in Nashville, invites walk-ins to learn more information about the Republican presidential candidate.
Volunteers remain in the office on weekdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. making phone calls on behalf of Trump, answering questions for visitors and giving out literature.
The Bradley County Chairman of the Trump campaign Abby Jones explained that the organization chose Cleveland for a number of reasons.
'It is one of the most Republican areas in the state of Tennessee,' Jones said. 'In Cleveland, you can service Chattanooga, you're closer to Knoxville and you're closer to North Georgia as well.'
Since its opening, the location has received numerous visitors.
'Everyday when we walk in here there's always a line,' Jones said. 'We have so many people we can't keep up. It's just constant.'
Jones said patrons are from all walks of life.
'It's all sorts of different people,' Jones said. 'Young people, old people and people from different religious groups and different racial backgrounds.'
The office welcomes volunteers desiring to help with the campaign.
