Learning how to love our neighbors with Mosaic Experience and Imago Dei
Mosaic Experience–an upcoming event at Lee with the theme of neighborly love–is a collective of campus organizations working together to provide learning experiences, community, and prayer through guided interactions with one another.
“One of our goals for this event is to have students come and feel welcome and feel like there’s places on campus for them to get connected,” said Loreilen Rosenbaum, Coordinator of Housing Residential Life.
In partnership with Campus Ministries, Imago Dei, and the Mosaic Council Clubs, Residential Life has made their usual semester Mosaic Experience event into something they hope will be much more. This group effort hopes to demonstrate to the students of Lee how to properly love their neighbors as they’re also God’s children said Rosenbaum.
Mosaic Experience 2025–Neighborly Love–will be hosted Monday, February 10th at 6:00 pm in the SMC Great Room.
The event will consist of three different breakout rooms that each person will attend, following those will be a shared meal with all the attendees. Upon arrival, each student will be given a name tag and their group will have a RD host that will guide them from station to station. One room will be hosted by Campus Ministries, one by Imago Dei, and one with the Mosaic Council Clubs.
The council clubs will have booths set up for students to hear about, explore, and discover how to get connected or involved with their organizations. There will also be a booth set up for Imago Dei with the clubs. Campus Ministries will have a more interactive room lead by Campus Pastor Wes Lutes that will discuss prayer for our neighbors and to understand what that posture of prayer looks like. The Imago Dei education room, lead by one of the founders of Imago Dei, Dhuranique Ferguson and the Chair for the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences, Dr. Ruth Wienk. They will be hosting a conversation of neighborly love both scripturally and practically on campus.
“Have a good time with people they may not hang out with around campus but are able to engage with and also meet for the first time,” Rosenbaum said about the atmosphere of the event.
While students are encouraged to show up when Mosaic Experience starts, Rosenbaum said that those involved know scheduling can be difficult for students. “We are also letting students come whenever…so even if you show up after 6:00 pm, just come to the Great Room.” Promising that there will be a helper to instruct and funnel any late arrivers into a group.
