Lady Flames Sweep Weekly GSC Track and Field Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- After stellar performances last weekend, Aria Hawkins and Liz Lannom has swept the weekly Gulf South Conference Women's Track and Field Award. Hawkins was named track athlete of the week while Lannom was both field and freshman athlete of the week.

Lannom, a Cleveland native, competed in pentathlon, scoring 3,294 points. That is an NCAA provisional mark. She also won the high jump with a jump of 1.70m. That mark set a new school record and also made another NCAA provisional mark. 
 
Hawkins was also selected as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Women's National Athlete of the Week this past weekend. Hawkins competed in the mile, finishing third overall with a time of 4:41.36, which ranks her #1 in the NCAA. She also competed in the 800m where she placed 15th with a time of 2:13.13 which is a NCAA provisional mark.
