Lee University began offering online programs in 2012 and has grown to offer 34 distinct programs ranging from religious studies to criminal justice. Lee Online aims to keep Christ at the center of its teaching while reminding students that they have caring professors on the other side of a screen.
The ‘US News’ solicits collegiate schools with a 150 question survey consisting of topics ranging from the number of students enrolled to the quality of education they are receiving. In this survey, different schools also answer questions that rank other institutions on the list.
“The university has made a commitment to try and produce quality online programs like our quality campus programs,” said Joshua Black, executive director of Lee Online.
The average Lee Online student is a 37-year-old working adult, according to Black. Roughly a quarter of all Lee Online students have begun their degrees at Lee but never finished. Lee's online programs seek to help people of any age finish their degree.
Lee Online Professor of the Bible Robert Debalak, elaborates on Lee Online’s mission, “Any form of distance education follows Paul's example of sending letters to churches. This is our missionary attempt to bring education to those who need it but can't get here.'"
