“It’s just the best song, and John Prine is fantastic.” — Morgan Parham, Senior Reporter
“Sink or Swim” by Lewis Watson

“Wake Me” by Bleachers
“I don’t know for sure what love is, but if I had to guess, I would think it’s what Jack Antonoff meant when he said, ‘I’d rather be sad with you than anywhere away from you.’” — Kristin Shaffer, Copy Editor
“Passenger Seat” by Death Cab for Cutie
“I adore this song because it paints love as peaceful advocacy and feeling perfectly safe with someone — like when you're so comfortable with someone that you can really take in the world around you without worrying about how you're being perceived. ‘When you feel embarrassed, I'll be your pride. when you need directions, I'll be the guide for all time.’ How tender.” — Kristin Shaffer, Copy Editor
“(what I wish just one person would say to me)” by LANY
“This song is soft, sweet and whimsical sounding. But it’s also angsty and nostalgic. It’s perfectly romantic.” — Anna Shand, Editor and Chief
“Doing to Me” by Lou Sedo
"This is one of those songs I re-discover every six months and fall in love with over and over again. I think I could listen to this song on repeat for the rest of my life and still love it." — Anna Shand, Editor and Chief
“But Beautiful” by Samara Joy and Pasquale Grasso
“This is one of those ‘swaying in the kitchen with your lover’ type songs. I love it because it opens with the question, ‘Who can say what love is?’ Then Joy goes on to describe love as things that are both good and bad: quiet, mad, tearful and gay. This feels like one of the most accurate descriptions of being in love. There’s fulfilling tender moments of love followed by challenging ones. Nonetheless, it’s ‘but beautiful’.” — Jada Camille, News Editor
“Just the Two of Us” by Grover Washing, Jr. and Bill Withers
“It’s a groovy jam released in the 80s, and it’s just a fun song that celebrates two people willing to try. True love doesn’t come easy and it takes work from both parties. This song details a realistic love story.” — Jada Camille, News Editor
“Like No One Does” by Jake Scott
“This ‘love’ song is about feeling understood without needing words. No talking, you know?” — Abigail White, Life Editor
“Don’t Worry Baby” by The Brook and The Bluff
“This song reminds me that ‘love’ isn’t worrisome, and the right one reminds you that. It adds some spice too.” — Abigail White, Life Editor
“Safe” by Antoine Bradford
“I really love this song because of the lines ‘Cause if loving you is putting me in danger then I don't ever wanna be safe, 'cause you have been the greatest gift to me apart from amazing grace.’ I love how this song addresses how vulnerable it can be to love someone. When you think of loving someone, the first word you think of is not usually ‘vulnerable,’ so I enjoy how it is authentic and real, acknowledging the risk, but also expressing it is worth the risk to love. So, so beautiful. I also love that it references faith. Sometimes love songs can seem like they are too caught up in each other, so I love how it shows how it implies a relationship with Jesus is the priority, but a significant other is still a huge blessing in life.” — Sara-Kate Dixon, Senior Photographer
“Painkiller” by Ruel
“This song is SUCH a fun vibe. I love it. It just makes you feel good inside, even if you aren't in a romantic relationship. On top of the instant mood-lifting vibe, it talks about his brain still being bitter sometimes and struggling with rough days. But even when he is hard on himself, there is someone who brings so much joy to his life that they are practically medication for his harsh thinking or tough days. I think it's great because love doesn't have to be roses, chocolates or kisses, love can truly be someone making your days better and bringing joy to your life when you are in the dumps.” — Sara-Kate Dixon, Senior Photographer
“The Sun” by Kyle ft. Bryson Tiller
“This song reminds me of a sunny day (even though it’s February) with the windows down, just riding down the highway with your bae.” — Kristen Blevins, Sports Editor
“Ex” by Kiana Ledé
“There’s always a special someone that you just can’t seem to get over.” — Kristen Blevins, Sports Editor
“Best Part” by H.E.R ft Daniel Caesar
“Just a song to put you right in your feels, and their voices sound amazing together.”— Kristen Blevins, Sports Editor
“Out of my League” by Fitz and the Tantrums
