Vibez coffee shop opening in Cleveland
This February, Vibez coffee shop is coming to Cleveland, TN. The drive-thru only shop offers a new coffee experience for guests.
“My vision is just to have a place where people feel welcomed,” said Logan Jordan, the owner of Vibez, “somewhere to come through and catch a Vibe.”
Vibez is located on Stuart Road NE. near the First Baptist Church of Cleveland.
They will be brewing organic Mahalo coffee Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vibez will be closed on Sunday to observe the Sabbath.
Vibez will be serving black drip coffee, and a small menu of specialty drinks such as cold brew, nitro cold brew, and hot and iced lattes.
“We’re going to have drip coffee. We’re going to have lattes and cappuccinos. We will have herbal tea. We’re going to have a chai tea latte,” said Jordan, “We’re dialing in a mocha latte right now. We’re going to have nitro coffee and cold brew coffee.”
To complement the menu options, there will also be an assortment of dairy products and dairy substitutes such as oat milk and almond milk, as well as syrup options to accommodate various palates.
“With our menu, we want to keep it small, but we want to keep it great,” Jordan said.
Jordan has spent a long time traveling to find the best coffee for his future customers.
“I’ve been all over trying to find an amazing coffee. I traveled to Michigan, Knoxville, California and Nashville,” said Jordan, “I found my roaster, Mahalo Coffee Roasters out of Knoxville, and they just do a really good job at Dawn and espresso and just making sure the coffee is roasted the way it needs to be.”
Not only is Jordan committed to serving organic coffee, but he is committed to ensuring that his customers’ experiences will leave them having a better day when they come through the drive-thru.
“Customer service is number one. Coffee is number two,” said Jordan, “I would rather go to a place with amazing customer service and decent coffee than amazing coffee and decent customer service. I want to make sure it’s clear that the customer is first.”
Vibez will be the only exclusively drive-thru coffee shop in the Cleveland area, making it a unique coffee experience for Lee students.
“I watched a video, and it said that there was also going to be like a little patio, and it kind of gave me Cookout vibes,” said Kelton Matthews, senior digital media student, “I think that’s really cool because you can still drive up, walk up and see people … I think the drive-thru concept is really cool.”
While some are excited to try out something new in Cleveland, others are fans of a traditional in-person coffee shop experience.
“It's probably not the kind of space that I would go to,” said Kevin Snider, lecturer of Christian ethics. Snider is a fan of in-person coffee shops. “I normally meet people at a coffee shop — a coffee shop is a place to meet for me. I have no objections to it. Certainly, my wife just does drive-thru for coffee all the time, so I know it works for some people.”
