Photo Essay: PCSU re-opens featuring updated renovations and Starbucks products
During winter break, Lee renovated the PCSU with changes to the lobby and dining locations on the second floor.
Renovators installed new furniture, lighting and paint to modernize the lobby’s look. The makeover has drawn positive responses from some students on campus.
“Honestly, I want to come to the PCSU even more because it looks so nice,” said freshman communications major Allison Yarbo. “They needed to brighten it up and modernize it.”
Prior to the new changes, the PCSU featured furnishings that were set in place at the building’s grand opening in 2000.
“The renovations look a lot nicer than before and [look] professionally done,” said senior business education major Bridget Wahner.
Chick-Fil-A and Jazzman’s received updates as part of the renovation project. Now, Chick-Fil-A serves a full menu with on-campus convenience and Jazzman’s has transitioned into a café serving Starbucks products.
“I am excited about taking Chick-Fil-A as it was and turning it into a more true Chick-Fil-A experience like the ones off campus,” said Sodexo General Manager, Bruce Reed.
Students without a meal plan can also benefit from the new dining options on campus, as Burgundy Bucks can be applied to both Starbucks and Chick-Fil-A menu items.
“While I don’t go to Starbucks often, the fact I can use burgundy bucks on Starbucks products is really cool,” said senior cinema major Andrew Lundregan.
The PCSU café will serve patrons from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Sundays. Chick-Fil-A will serve patrons from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays.
