On Saturday night, the Museum Center at 5ive Points hosted Music Under the Stars, an event featuring Chattanooga’s Premier Jazz Orchestra, food trucks and free swing dancing lessons, courtesy of Unity Dance Troupe. Members of the orchestra included Lee’s own Dr. Doug Warner, Mr. Alan Wyatt, Mr. Clint Schmitt and Dalton Hurst. Many students from Lee’s School of Music attended the event, both in support of Lee faculty and peers and to show off their dancing skills.

“Music Under the Stars gave School of Music students an opportunity to come together in support of local music. Not only that, but as music majors, we don’t typically have time to go out and enjoy ourselves, so it was nice to be able to let loose and have some fun,” said senior music education major Christian Davis.

“What a perfect evening in every way. Seeing friends, old and new, enjoying food and conversation as the sun went down and hearing music by some of the best musicians in the region — wow. I hope there are many more nights like these to come,” said professor of voice Dr. Andrea Dismukes.
