For years, the newest class of future Lee students have participated in Lee Day, a two-day event that allows incoming Flames to experience college life. While the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Lee Day has made adjustments this year to continue to provide students an insight into life at Lee.

Current and future Lee students can attend the event April 9-10. This year, Lee Day will be a livestreamed experience.

Lee faculty and staff have added a game board for students to access while on “Lee Day Live.”

Taylor Clark, a current senior in high school, looks forward to attending the weekend and explains she received a box in the mail containing socks, a blanket, a game board and snacks from Lee.

“Everything about ‘Lee Day Live’ this year seems super well thought out and full of helpful ways to get a true feel for the culture, character and lifestyle of Lee,” said Clark.

In Lee’s promotional video for the weekend, one of the hosts, junior journalism major Jada Camille explains the weekend will include a campus tour, information about student life and class registration for incoming students.

Throughout the weekend, students will be able to make connections with current Lee students and faculty through zoom question and answer events.

Jacob Opperman, a student worker for media services, has worked on the behind-the-scenes aspects of “Lee Day Live.”

“It’s been a lot of fun watching the whole thing come together,” said Opperman. “There’s a lot of pieces to the puzzle, and it’s all really cool.”

The schedule allows for ample time for students to move at their own pace, and participants are eligible for scholarship drawings throughout the weekend.

Owen Nobles, a current Lee student, has been working alongside the media team to organize the pre-production side of “Lee Day Live.”

“Working an event of this size has been so much fun and challenging. I hope that this event gives students an idea of what Lee truly is like and a taste of what we call home,” said Nobles.
