During a time of social distancing and online courses, Lee’s staff is working to provide services to students through digital outlets. Many on-campus student services are now offering online assistance.

The Hub

Student Success Coaching: Coaches are available to meet with students via Zoom and phone to assist with strategic needs and answer any questions. In an email sent earlier this month to students, the center said students can reach out to their assigned coach to schedule an appointment time. If students do not currently have an assigned coach, they can go to the Hub’s Self-Service menu on Portico to request one.

Tutoring: Similar to Student Success Coaches, tutors are also offering meetings arranged via Zoom. Students can request a tutor to see their availability.

Supplemental Instruction: Some Supplemental Instruction Leaders are also offering their assistance to students through Zoom. To get in contact with a particular Supplemental Instruction Leader, students will need to submit an alert to the Hub’s Self-Service tutor request indicating it is for Supplemental Instruction purposes. Through this, an available leader will reach out with further information.

Squires Library

According to the Director of Library Services and Professor Louis Morgan, Squires Library is “providing research assistance for students and faculty using Zoom.” Along with Zoom, staff members are accessible to students through chat and email resources.

Zoom, chat and phone assistance times (Eastern Standard Time):

Monday-Thursday: 9:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Saturday: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Residential Life and Housing

With most students no longer present on campus, Advanced Housing Selection is transitioning to online platforms for this year’s event. Assistant Director of Housing Morgan Jones explains how students can make their fall housing selections through JotForm.

“Students will be able to submit their housing requests online using JotForm, and then Residential Life & Housing staff will assign them housing for the fall,” Jones said. “We are doing our best to still honor students’ requests and ensure their housing needs are met!”

For more information about the on-campus housing application, email housing@leeuniversity.edu.

Records Office

The Records Office staff is working to connect with students before Lee Day and Advanced Class Selection — both online for this year. To do so, they are providing students with aid via email and phone.

“By the nature of the work we do in the Records Office, we have not had to utilize Zoom services directly with students yet,” said Academic Records Specialist Mario Urioste.

To contact the Records Office, email records@leeuniversity.edu or call (423) 614-8200.

Center for Calling and Career

The Center for Calling and Career is currently assisting students with major/minor changes, resume building and coaching through Zoom services and phone calls.

To learn more about the office and the services provided, students can contact Calling and Career via email at ccc@leeuniversity.edu and by phone at (423) 310-4471. Students are also invited to keep up with career opportunities by following the office on social media platforms at @LeeUCareer.

Lee University Counseling Center

Lee University’s Counseling Center (LUCC) is keeping in contact with students through what they call “teletherapy.” This service takes place via Zoom and is free and confidential to enrolled students.

Students can find LUCC’s hours of operation at leeuniversity.edu/counseling and can contact the office at (423) 614-8415 or counseling@leeuniversity.edu.

The Writing Center

The Writing Center is offering writing support for students online through Lee’s platform WCOnline. Through this, students are paired with a trained writing tutor that will help walk them through various writing challenges and/or questions.

Students who are interested in scheduling an appointment with a writing tutor can do so through WCOnline.
