Lee enacts emergency grading policy
In a Friday afternoon email, Dr. Paul Conn announced Lee is enacting an emergency grading policy for the spring semester. Students will be given the option of selecting “pass or fail” grades upon receiving their final letter grades.
“All classes will proceed toward a final grade of A-F, as usual,” Conn wrote. “At the end of the semester, the professor will disclose that grade to each student. The student will then have the option either to accept that grade, or to receive a grade of Pass or Did Not Pass. All course credit will be counted toward core requirements, regardless of the grading option chosen.”
According to Conn, faculty members will communicate their updated course expectations to students, including the course’s minimum attendance requirements to pass.
Conn ended the email update by reassuring students they are loved and heard.
“Hey students, I tell you this a lot, even before the pandemic, but let me remind you: I love you. I see you. You are my spiritual sons and daughters. I pray for you and all the wonderful faculty and staff that love you too. You can do this. We can do this. God is with us,” Conn wrote.
Conn will address the updated grading policy in a Q & A session on Monday at 2 p.m. Additionally, Conn is expected to address room and board refunds and spring commencement.
Students are invited to email questions, comments or concerns to studentfeedback@leeuniversity.edu.
