Emergency maintenance to disrupt online services

In a Tuesday morning email, Director of IT Operations Chris Golden alerted students to possible disruptions in online services due to an “emergency maintenance” reboot of equipment in the Lee University data center.

“Tonight we are taking some of our own medicine and rebooting some equipment in the data center that’s acting a little funky,” said Golden.

The reboot is set to take place at 10 p.m. tonight. If all goes well, Golden said the system will be back online by midnight.

During the reboot, most online services will be unavailable. This includes Moodle, Portico, VLABS, on-campus internet access and the Lee website. However, email should still function as normal.

“We realize this isn’t the best time to be taking things offline, but we are experiencing an issue that is starting to affect critical systems and we’d like to get it resolved before Lee Day this weekend,” said Golden.

For questions regarding the situation, can contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@leeuniversity.edu.
