1. Shooting in Northwest Washington, DC

DC Police are investigating a shooting that killed one person and injured five more in Columbia Heights Thursday night.

The first reports of gunshots came in around 10 p.m. Officials arrived to the courtyard area of an apartment complex and found six victims who were taken to hospitals in various conditions.

With at least one of the victims in critical condition, police said they are currently interviewing locals and looking into the possibility of a drive-by.

2. Tropical Depression Imelda 

Tropical Depression Imelda is still devastating parts of Texas as two storm-related deaths have been confirmed.

Rescue efforts are still underway as the tropical storm moves inland—swamping southeastern Texas with rain and bringing the possibility of tornados.

According to the National Hurricane Center, the effects of Imelda are expected to last well into Friday night and Saturday

3. Guest Artist Recital

Guest artists Alexander Lapins and Paul Lee are performing tonight in the Squires Recital Hall.

The recital begins at 7 p.m. and will feature music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Robert Schumann and Allen Vizzutti, as well as others.

This event is free, non-ticked and open to the public.
