Three things for September 18

Three things for September 18

1. First impeachment hearing

House Democrats held their first impeachment hearing yesterday, September 17.

The sole witness of the day was former Trump campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski.

Early this morning, President Trump tweeted about the hearing and slammed Democrats for “getting nothing done.”

The White House has given immunity to two witnesses and has declined to provide new documents.

2. Dr. Justin Walker in the Conn Center

Kay Warren was set to speak in Conn Center chapel on Tuesday, but due to traveling complications was unable to attend.

Vice President of Student Development Mike Hayes stated, “[She] experienced some travel challenges and unfortunately will not be able to be with us today.”

Dr. Justin Walker, a new member of the School of Religion faculty, was originally speaking in the Dixon Center but took to the Conn Center stage Tuesday morning.

Tonight, Campus Pastor Rob Fultz will close out the evening portion of convocation by speaking in the Conn Center.

3. Hurricane Humberto

Hurricane Humberto has reached major hurricane status as a category three storm.

With sustained winds of 115 mph, Humberto is currently threatening Bermuda just two weeks after category five Hurricane Dorian devastated much of the Grand Bahamas and Abaco Islands.
