Three things for November 7
1. Papa John’s receives backlash after owner attends Trump rally
John Schnatter — founder of the pizza chain Papa John’s — is facing a whirlwind of backlash after he attended a Trump rally in Lexington, Kentucky.
When a picture of Schnatter at the rally circulated around Twitter, some consumers voiced their concerns that the problems within the leadership of the company were resurfacing once again.
This controversy follows the 2018 incident where Schnatter was heard using racial slurs during a conference call.
2. Democrat Andy Beshear takes lead over Republican candidate in deep red Kentucky governor race
Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear claimed his own victory in the state’s governor race when polls revealed he was ahead in the race against Republican opponent Gov. Matt Brevin.
Currently, Brevin has the lowest approval rate in the country and claims there were “irregularities” in the voting process.
Brevin called for a recanvass of the votes and has yet to concede despite his 5,333 votes of 1.4 million.
3. Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman arrested for drug possession
Daniel Ross, a Cowboys lineman, was arrested this week in Frisco, Texas and charged for possession of marijuna and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
Ross has been on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury, so this will not affect the Cowboys’ current field lineup and strategy.
The team has not released a statement and has not taken action on the charged lineman.
