Three things for September 6
1. Tenaja Fire threatens southwestern California
Now estimated to have spread up to 2,000 acres, the Tenaja fire in southwestern California began as a brush fire and has now led to mandatory evacuations.
Around 500 personnel were assigned to combat the fire. Officials reported that the fast-moving blaze was contained 10% by Thursday night.
2. SAAC Tailgate
The Lee Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has invited students and faculty to join them at a tailgate before the LeeU Men’s soccer game on Saturday.
The event will take place in front of Walker arena at 5:30 p.m. in anticipation of the season-opening game.
The tailgate will feature music, food and games for students to enjoy before cheering on the flames at 7 p.m.
3. Tauren Wells at U-Church
American Christian rock and pop artist Tauren Wells is set to open the Fall U-Church series on Sunday, Sept. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.
The event is free for anyone who wants to attend. Seating is first come, first served. A post-church mixer will occur right after the event on Sunday.
