Weekend Update 10/31
The women’s volleyball team had two games this weekend, each resulting in victories.
They first faced Valdosta State University on Oct. 28 finishing 3-0. Junior Brooke Wilsman led the team in kills with 12.
The next day, Oct. 29, the volleyball team headed to University of West Florida and garnered another victory, finishing with a score of 3-2. Sophomore Silvia Sartori led with 16 kills.
The Flames now have a six game winning streak and are 8-8 in the Gulf South Conference (GSC).
The Flames men’s soccer team had an away game on Friday, Oct. 28 in Georgia against Shorter University. The game resulted in a 1-2 lose for the Flames. Goalkeeper Daniel Hrenko had three saves. Senior David Perez scored his 10th goal this season. Shorter and Lee had taken 13 shots.
The men’s team now has a 4-3-2 standing in the conference and placed fifth. They will be facing University of West Alabama on Nov. 1 at the beginning of the GSC Tournament.
The Lady Flames soccer team also had an away game in Georgia against University of West Georgia. Junior Summer Lanter scored two goals, while senior Kinsey Cichowitz scored 1, resulting in another victory for the Flames with a score of 3-0. Lanter scored within 20 seconds of the game starting.
They now are 11-1 in the GSC and will be heading to Pensacola, FL on Nov. 4 for the GSC tournament semifinals.
