Weekend Update
The women’s soccer team scored a winning goal with 3 and a half minutes on the scoreboard Sunday afternoon. Junior Suzanne Arant scored the winning goal in an otherwise 0-0 game.
The men’s soccer team celebrated a 6-0 win friday night against Auburn University Montgomery on the home pitch. Sophomore Drew Jackson scored for the Flames in the first 20 seconds of the match. The following five goals were made by five different players, two of which were assisted.
Men’s cross country team took home the gold on Saturday at the Montevallo Falcon Classic. While the Flames were ranked 21 for the classic, they had 5 runners make the top 11 earning them 35 points and a spot in first place. Junior Seth Eagleson was the first to cross the finish line for the flames and finished third overall.
Women’s cross country team placed second at the Montevallo Falcon Classic on Saturday with 2 runners in the top ten. Junior Audrey Smith placed fifth out of 117 followed by freshman Becca Umbarger. The rest of the girls weren't far behind finishing at 16th, 19th and 26th.
Lee women’s volleyball team lost to University of Alabama Huntsville 3-1 Friday evening at home court. Sophomore Silvia Satori set the match high for kills with 23 total including 12 in the last match. Senior Catherine Conley had 11 slams and 5 blocks.
Saturday, the volleyball team had a close 3-2 loss against North Alabama University on home court. North Alabama was Gulf South Conference champion last season and took losses in the first two matches against the Flames. Satori had 17 kills while seniors Cat Conley and Crystal Deeds held the front line with seven blocks for Conley and five for Deeds. Junior Carly Callahan also had five blocks.
