Student robbed at gunpoint near Brinsfield Row

On the evening of Feb. 12, the Cleveland Police Department responded to a call concerning a robbery in progress near Brinsfield Row dorms.

According to the police report, senior Robert Acevedo was walking in the parking lot behind Brinsfield when a man approached him from behind coming from the direction of New Hughes Hall, and demanded his wallet.

Acevedo turned around to see a white male, described as being around 5 feet 9 inches tall and 150 pounds, pointing a handgun at his face from about three feet away.

After Acevedo gave up the wallet, containing roughly $20 cash and two credit cards, the man ran away and was joined by two black males as he fled the scene.

Acevedo stated that he was uninjured and received no medical attention.

On the night of the robbery, no contact was made with any suspects.
