Five sign letters of intent to join Lady Flames
The Lady Flames soccer team has already had five high school players sign their letters of intent to join the Lady Flames for the 2016 fall season.
Head Coach Chris Hennesey has only been the official head coach since November of 2015, having been the interim head coach for the 2015 fall season.
According to the Lee Athletics website Hennessey said, "They will certainly add to the strength and depth of our roster. Last year we were pretty thin throughout the majority of the season given all the injuries that occurred. This year not only are we adding more numbers, but all of them will certainly push to play and will most definitely improve our roster from top to bottom.'
All five players bringing to Lee experience playing on club teams as well as their high-school teams.
Emma Higgins is a two time offensive player of the year for Notre Dame High-School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She is also a Tennessee state champion with her club team.
Higgins said after her first visit to Lee in her sophomore year, she felt like Lee was the place for her.
'The team and the coaches, Chris and Luidgi, were so inviting,' Higgins said. 'Seeing how close the team is also drew me in. They really made me feel like Lee was my new home.'
As well as recruiting five incoming freshman, the Lady Flames are also only losing two players that were seniors in the 2015 season.
Mia Hollingsworth, sophomore Lady Flames player, said she has met four of the five recruits and they fit the character of the team.
'I think the players will be great additions on the field,' Hollingsworth said.
