Weekend sports wrap-up

The Lee University Flames Athletic teams were busy this weekend March 28 and 29. All the Flames' were on the road this weekend before Easter Break.

Fast-Pitch Softball as well as baseball were both on the road at the University of West Florida for a three-game series.

The Lady Flames lost two of their last three games going into the weekend against West Florida. The Lady Flames started the weekend off with a close 7-6 win over West Florida. They went on to win the second game 6-0 and won both games on Saturday. Before coming home on Sunday afternoon, the Lady Flames won their third and final game to complete the sweep of West Florida. They outscored their opponent 15-7 to win all three games this weekend.

The Lady Flames are at home midweek against Tennessee Temple University. They have a three game series at home against Delta State this weekend before Easter Sunday.

The baseball team also was away at the University of West Florida. The Flames had lost three straight going into the weekend. The Flames played extra innings in the first two games against the Argonauts. They lost 2-1 in the first game and 5-4 in the second game, extending their losing streak to five.

However, the Flames snapped their losing streak on Sunday. No extra innings were needed as the Flames won 7-4 to take one win from the series as they come home this week.

The Flames play Young Harris College at home on Wednesday and also have a three game series at home against Delta State before Easter.

Both the men and women's tennis teams were on the road this weekend as well, at Mississippi College.

The Lady Flames lost last Wednesday to the University of North Alabama at home. The Lady Flames lost as a team 5-4. They tied in singles, though, 3-3. The Lady Flames are now 5-6 overall and will play Tennessee Wesleyan College away on March 31.

The men's team was also at Mississippi College this weekend. The Flames lost their sixth straight game to Mississippi 6-3. The Flames' overall record is now 1-9 with their only win coming out of conference to Emmanuel College.

The Flames also play at Tennessee Wesleyan College on Tuesday, March 31. The Flames look to get their second win of the season before heading to Easter Break.

Both the men and women's golf teams are in Pensacola, Florida Monday and Tuesday for the Argonaut Invitational.

Men's golf won their last tournament in Alabama in the Jim Bishop Toyota Classic.

The Lady Flames best finish in the spring season has been fifth at the TSYS Collegiate Classic in Georgia.

The Flames look to keep improving before going to the Gulf South Conference Tournament in late April.
