Last Friday, Feb. 20 Sigma Nu Sigma put on their annual spring event, the House of Blues.
The event gives the opportunity for any interested Lee students to perform. This year included 15 different groups.
'I thought all of the acts were very funny and really put together. My favorite act had to be the men of Alpha Gamma Chi because of their creativity and the short shorts that showed their personality,' Junior Kaley Barenkamp said. 'I also loved the guest appearance from Jordan Smith when he sang Halo by Beyoncé. It was absolutely flawless.'
House of Blues Participant Bethany Enochs said performing in The House of Blues was something that she would never forget.
'My favorite part was being able to dance and just have a good time with my whole tap on stage,' Enochs said. 'We were nervous, but we just went out there and had fun. We were excited to show everyone all of the hard work that we had put into our dance.'
Enochs also enjoyed the impromptu performance of Junior Jordan Smith, whose voice and piano skills many students know well from the Alternative Chapel band.
'He stole the show with his performance of Halo!' Enochs said.
Sigma Nu Sigma Member Ashton Knight said that she believes this year's event was a huge success.
'Not only did we have a large crowd for the event this year, but we also had participation from a variety of Greek clubs on campus and groups that are not involved in the Greek community. I think this shows that we are including an assortment of students on campus, which is our goal. We want to provide an opportunity for fellowship and fun,' Knight said.
Knight expressed much gratitude to the directors of The House of Blues.
'Kim Williams and Carly Chamerlick did a great job of getting the word out this year,' Knight said. 'I think it has become a tradition for many clubs on campus to be involved.'
