Nothing kicks off a great week like a great weekend, and this upcoming weekend has plenty of opportunities for a good time on and off campus. Here's what you need to know to get your November started off right!

EAT

This Saturday, Oct. 31, is Upsilon Xi's annual Sadie Hawkins event; Lee's oldest tradition. The event will include live music, bonfires and plenty of hay bales to take cute fall photos in front of with friends. Dos Bros will be served for all who attend, and tickets cost $15 for an individual and $20 per couple. If you're planning on taking a date, it's a Sadie's tradition that girls ask the boys, so get ready to make your move ladies!

SEE

The leaves are just starting to change, which means it is time to go see the Chillhowee overlook. If you haven't been up there this semester already, now is definitely the time. Chillhowee is absolutely beautiful this time of year, and this weekend is the perfect time to see the leaves at their most beautiful before they fall. The key is to go to the overlooks instead of the park. Take a short drive up the mountain, and then you can see one of the best views in our tri-city area. It is best to wait for a clear day, so you can see everything the valley has to offer.

This year, Lee's Student Leadership Council (SLC) is working hard to change the way you think about Homecoming. The goal is to increase student engagement; SLC wants homecoming to be just as much fun for current students as it is for alumni. Starting on Monday, Nov. 2, Lee is going to have its first ever spirit week. This is going to be a fun opportunity to support the athletic teams competing during Homecoming this year.

Each day has a different theme and activity to participate in, along with a designated hashtag. Monday will begin with #MustacheMonday, where students can try out President Paul Conn's signature look by either wearing (or growing) a mustache. Tuesday, grab your doppelganger, and matching clothes, for #TwinTuesday. On Wednesday, celebrate diversity on campus with the #WorldWideWednesday hashtag. This is a great opportunity for international students to represent their home nations with pride. On Thursday, dress up in an outfit that represents your favorite decade with #ThrowbackThursday. Finally, on Friday, get decked out in Lee gear and represent the campus for #FlamesFriday. It is going to be a super fun and cute week! Make sure you show off your pictures on Instagram.
