College Days at the Tennessee Aquarium

Explore the Tennessee Aquarium for half the price! In the month of February, the Tennessee Aquarium is offering discounted tickets for the Aquarium and the IMAX 3D Theater. In a bi-annual occurrence called the College Days event, tickets are 50 percent off for college students, faculty, staff and their accompanying party.

These discounted tickets are available for purchase Sunday-Friday from Feb. 1 to Feb. 29. 

Adult tickets are regularly $39.95 and $29.95 for children ages 5-17. The IMAX 3D Theater, next door to the Aquarium, charges $9.95 for regular admission. With the College Days discount, adult Aquarium tickets can be bought for $20 and $15 for children. All IMAX 3D tickets are five dollars for all ages. 

Currently, two feature films are available to watch in the IMAX 3D Theater. The newest one is titled “The Arctic: Our Frozen Planet 3D.” The other 45-minute film is “Deep Sky 3D,” which includes images captured by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope. 

Since the previous College Days event, visitors to the Aquarium will find a few new additions. In March of 2023, the Aquarium opened the all-new Ridges to Rivers gallery. This features multi-sensory exhibits concentrated on the diverse aquatic species in the Southeast. New additions in the last year include Sunshine, a female North American River Otter, along with Spotted Eagle Rays, Poison Dart Frogs, baby Four-eyed Turtles and Arakan Forest Turtles.

To utilize the College Days discount, tickets can be purchased at the Aquarium’s Riverplace ticketing center on the Aquarium Plaza. Please bring a college ID, transcript, or paystub to receive your discount. The Aquarium operates on a timed entry system, and wait times may apply.
