1. Shooting at college party in Greenville, Texas

On Saturday night, a gunman shot and killed two adults and injured 14 at an off-campus college party in Greenville, Texas. The party consisted of over 750 people, but authorities believe “the shooter may have been targeting just one person,” according to AP News. 

The shooter has not yet been apprehended; however, the police department in Greenville is currently on the hunt.

According to AP News, the event took place near a satellite campus of Texas A&M. Following the shooting, many local college students were left in shock.

2. ISIS Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead after U.S. Military operation in Syria

President Trump announced Sunday ISIS Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been killed after a U.S. Military operation in Syria.

Al-Baghdadi was killed after U.S. troops “cornered him and his children in a dead-end tunnel” on Saturday night, according to Trump’s speech.

Trump also declared al-Baghdadi’s death to be a major victory for the U.S. as the troops brought “the world's number one terrorist leader to justice.” 

3. Homecoming Court nominations begin

Homecoming court nominations begin today with the final round of voting on Wednesday and Thursday. Students will receive the link to cast their votes via email today.
