Pi was framed in car vandalism incident, victims say

Over a dozen vehicles were vandalized in the O’Bannon-Bowdle parking lot early Friday morning between 2-4 a.m. according to freshmen residents. Car chalk was used on the windows of the vehicles to paint images of male genitalia, obscene words and the symbols of Lee University Greek club Pi Kappa Pi on a number of cars. [...]

Theft article represents poor journalism

I am writing in regards to your online article about the theft of the last Lee Clarion issue. I am sorry to hear about this theft and I hope that you can discover the identity of the theft. I am, however, disapointed by the bias presented in the online article accusing Pi Kappa Pi of [...]

The Lee alumnus’ first book, “They Popped My Hood and Found Gravy on the Dipstick,” was released in March of this year. The book chronicles Starnes’ inspirational journey from needing major heart surgery to running [...]

Lee Clarion issue stolen from stands

If you couldn’t find a copy of the April 17 issue of the Lee Clarion, chances are you weren’t the one who stole approximately 1,550 copies of Volume 63, Issue 12 from campus newsstands. The newspapers were likely stolen because of an article regarding changes in Greek society since revisions in induction policy. The article, [...]

Two years later: Has Greek society changed?

It’s been more than two years since President Paul Conn dramatically revamped Lee University’s Greek club induction process to remove the heavy emphasis on physicality. While some Greeks have argued that inductions have ceased to be effective and challenging as a result, others in Lee’s Greek community say that the changes have actually helped clubs [...]

Softball soaring on hot streak

The Lady Flames softball team continues to show its dominance with a 23-9 overall record and a 15-3 Southern States Conference record. After a slow start, the Lady Flames have posted a 12-2 record since March 20, outscoring their opponents 87 to 25. They have shut out their opponents five times and only allowed more [...]

Jock Talk with Sierra Baxter

Sierra Baxter is a junior sociology major from Akron, Ohio. She is the intramural coordinator for Epsilon Lambda Phi and participates in every intramural sport offered. Q) What is the best part of playing intramurals here at Lee? A) I’d have to say just being able to compete with and against my friends. Through intramurals, [...]

How would Lee respond to a shooting?

Friday will mark the second anniversary of the horrible shooting at Virginia Tech. In reflection of those events, it’s time to think about what kind of safety is on Lee’s campus. Public and state schools have increasingly been arming their officers to ensure safety and effectiveness if there was a school shooting in the likes [...]

Too much of a good thing? Students question the value of questionnaires.

The abundance of surveys at Lee provides a voice for some Lee students while restricting the opinions of others. These surveys take the shape of course and adviser evaluations, cafeteria surveys, surveys for seniors and many more. Some of the surveys Chris Lane, a junior business major, took were “from advisers asking about the business department or… the cafeteria asking me about the quality of the food.”

Foreign policy filled with blunders

The G20, consisting of the world’s top 20 economic powers, convened at a summit to deal with the global recession last week. The conference has long been an informal meeting among heads of state to provide suggestions and move towards cooperation. In general, the United States and other nations have not sought any real change [...]

Helping to get the 'ring by spring'

As the spring semester draws to a close, more and more individuals seem to be getting ready to tie the knot. Perhaps the most nerve-racking part of such plans is actually having to make the proposal. Ergo, this article will be geared towards guys, but I believe ladies too will find it enlightening, since everything [...]

Hannah Montana makes my heart warm and fuzzy

You know you’ve made it big when you have a cameo appearance in the latest tween fad movie, Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus, whatever we’re calling her today. Lee alumus Jay DeMarcus, instrumentalist and vocalist for Rascal Flatts, has done just that, along with the rest of the Rascal Flatts clan, Tyra Banks and Taylor [...]

A lyric tenor, Whithead sang “Lonely House” from the opera “Street Scene” by Kurt Weill during the NATS auditions. He said he [...]

Celebrate spring the cruelty-free way

What comes to mind when you think of Easter? I would suggest the Resurrection, eggs and most of all the Easter Bunny. In honor of our cute little furry friend, I put together a list of animal cruelty-free clothing lines. These fashions look awesome, make a statement and protect the animals that we love. A [...]

Cambridge students return to America

It is Thursday night and I am curled up with a cup of tea, chocolate, and a laptop. For all the traveling we have done, it’s great to be in one place. Last Friday we flew back to the United States: the land of the free, home of the hamburger. After the longest day of [...]
